24 HOUR EMERGENCY COVER
We provide 24-hour on-call emergency cover for our clients.
Should you experience an emergency during our normal Practice opening hours, please call your nearest branch for advice and assistance.
Out of Hours
If you need emergency assistance outside of our normal opening hours, either at night or at the weekend, you should still call your normal Practice phone number. You will be directed to our out of hours answering system, but you will speak to our on-call Vet.
At times it may not be practical for you to get to the Practice, or your pet may be unable to travel. In these circumstances, our clinical team members can arrange a house visit.
We do recommend, wherever possible, that you attend the Practice if you can, so we can administer the best possible care to your pet surrounded by our facilities.
In an emergency, however, the very best for your pet is to be seen in one of our clinics, where we have all the equipment and facilities required to treat your pet at soon as possible.
Please note that we do not operate an ambulatory service, so do ensure that you have transport arrangements in place for unforeseen emergencies, day or night.
We cannot provide a house visit for emergencies, at weekends or at night, as we cannot guarantee to have the staff levels available.
Please contact us in advance if you would like a home visit, and we will be happy to make arrangements.
PET CARE CLUB
Our Pet Care Club allows you to provide the best health care for your pet AND save money!
We believe a proactive, preventative approach to your pet’s healthcare is better than waiting until your pet is vulnerable or ill to put things right. We want to help you to make responsible pet ownership simple and affordable, so we have designed Pet Health Plans for cats, dogs and rabbits which cover preventative health care for 12 months.
This means you set up a direct debit instead of paying each time you come to collect your pet’s monthly preventative treatment or book them in for their annual vaccination and health check, so you’re safe in the knowledge that all of this is already covered!
Treatments included on the Pet Care Club are:
- Routine vaccinations
- Year-round worming treatment
- Year-round flea & tick treatment
- Complimentary health check between annual boosters
- 10% off microchipping
- 10% off routine neutering
- 10% off dental treatment
- 10% off all food & accessories bought from the practice

PET PLAN PET INSURANCE
We strongly recommend taking out insurance for your pet for your own peace of mind. Having insurance in place can help make decision-making much easier if your pet should unexpectedly suffer an illness or injury. There are many insurance companies available, but we are able to offer you 4weeks’ free insurance with immediate cover for injury or illness for all puppies and kittens aged between 6 weeks and 18 months old. This can only be issued once your new addition has had their first vet health check.
Terms and Conditions apply.
If you would like to find out more about our Pet Plan Pet Insurance, ask at any of our branches, click on the link below, or contact the Pet Plan team direct on 0330 102 2184.
Being overweight is a danger to your pet’s well-being and can contribute to, and even cause, several diseases, conditions and health issues. So, if you find your little friend has become a little on the large side, we can help!
Obesity is an increasingly common occurrence in pets and brings with it a host of potential health problems. These include diabetes, breathing / heart problems, and joint problems. Cats also show skin and coat problems due to their inability to groom themselves.
If you are concerned about your pet’s weight or would like to bring them in to get their weight checked then please book an appointment with one of our nurses; we are here to help. We can discuss their diet and exercise regimes and come up with a weight loss plan to suit you and your pet.
Your pet will also be weighed each time they visit, and we can monitor their progress. There are also special weight loss diets available to help your pet lose weight whilst helping them to feel full.
Phone any of our branches for an appointment and take that first step towards a healthier, happier pet!
NEW PET CHECK
If you have recently acquired a new pet of any age and would just like to have a check over, simply phone your nearest branch for a FREE New Pet Check appointment.
We will conduct a full clinical examination and offer advice on all aspects of health care including vaccinations, worming, flea and tick control, neutering, dental care and diet.
This helps get you and your new addition to get off to a good start together, and if you are a new owner, gives you a chance to brush up on all you need to know to have a happy and healthy pet.
6-MONTH-OLD PET HEALTH CHECK
We like to maintain good relations with both our client and their pet, so after seeing you for the initial vaccination course, we invite you both back for a FREE clinical examination and a cuddle!
This check allows us to monitor your pet’s development, while giving you a chance to ask questions or express any concerns. Another important aspect of this visit is that your pet can have a positive experience in the Practice. If you later need to bring your pet in due to illness, their previous fun and a stress-free visit can help alleviate any anxiety and enable us to examine your pet fully in a relaxed manner. We will offer advice at this stage on health issues such as neutering, worming, dental care and diet as well as behaviour or training issues to help make sure that he or she continues to develop into a well-adjusted, healthy, happy pet.
You are of course welcome to pop in any time to familiarise yourself and your pet with the Practice, and our staff, and to use the weighing scales if you wish.
Since April 2016, it has been compulsory for all dogs to be identifiable by a microchip. This is a step towards promoting responsible pet ownership and helping to reduce the numbers of lost and abandoned dogs found every year.
The microchip is inserted under the skin, by needle, at the shoulder blades. It is a very quick procedure, and at Easter Ross Vets we use the smallest needle and the most modern chip available.
The unique identification number is then recorded along with your dog’s name, description, and your address and contact details.
In the unfortunate situation that your dog is lost, with a microchip in place he/she can easily be scanned for their unique identification number. The Vet, Police Officer or Dog Home/Warden who scan your dog will then contact the National Database, and you can be re-united!
It is important to remember to contact the Database yourself to update any changes in your contact details.
To have your dog chipped, please contact any of our branches, and it can be done at a time to suit you by one of our Vets or Veterinary Nurses.
Alternatively, if your dog is due to come in for surgery, such as neutering or a dental, we can insert the chip whilst they are anaesthetised.
